How does resivo work for tenants?
Welcome to resivo, the secure access control system by dormakaba for facility management and their tenants. With resivo, you can open all doors that are mapped with the resivo system and for which you have access rights using your smartphone or an access medium.
In this chapter, you will learn how resivo works and how you can use resivo as tenants.
Central components
The following components are key when using resivo for tenants:
-
Tenant setup card
-
Smartphone with the resivo home app
-
Access media
1. Tenant setup card
The hand-over of your rental property is successfully completed and your facility management has given you the resivo tenant setup card. Using the tenant setup card, you can change access rights on the door component (door lock) if a door component supported in resivo is installed. For example, you can add or delete access media.

Neither the REM setup card nor the tenant setup card can be used to open doors. They are exclusively for creating and changing access rights.
With the move-in, the facility management has transferred the configuration authorization for your rental property doors to the tenant setup card. Therefore, only you as tenant can change access authorizations.

Facility management is legally required to issue all access media (in this case: access rights) to the new tenants. Due to these security reasons, the tenant setup card must remain in the tenants’ possession until they move out.

Further information on the tenant setup card can be found here.
2. resivo home app
With the resivo home app, your smartphone becomes the digital key you can use to open the doors you have access authorization to.
Using the resivo home app has the following advantages:
-
Access media can be added and issued easily and quickly
-
No lost keys; all digital keys and access media can be viewed in the key list
-
Access can be individually adapted, and time restrictions can be added
-
Digital keys and access media can be quickly and easily revoked

3. Access media

resivo also works with the access media (keycard, key fob). You can request access media from your facility management.
Thanks to access media, it is possible to use resivo without the resivo home app as well.

Be sure that your facility management provides you with enough access media.
To make any changes to your doors, facility management always needs your tenant setup card, which only you have in your possession. That means you need to arrange an appointment with your facility management. However, if you decide to use the resivo home app later, then you will need an invitation code for this. The facility management generates the invitation code for you.
